You are required to take up to the 104 level in a language of your choice. It is important to begin and continue your foreign language sequences as soon as possible, especially if you are continuing with a language you began in high school.
Goals/Rationale
- Foreign language courses develop students’ skills in communication across ethnic, cultural, ideological, and national boundaries, and help students develop an understanding of other cultures and patterns of thought.
Learning Objectives
- students demonstrate basic skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a language other than their native language
- students describe cultural differences in countries other than their own, and demonstrate an appreciation of these differences
