Graduation Requirements
Overall Graduation Requirements for the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences – in addition to these stated, there are specific college requirements. Working with your advisers frequently will ensure that you have met these requirements.
- 2.0 Overall GPA
- 2.0 Major & Minor GPA (no course below a C- counts)
- All GECs, Major Courses, Electives (if needed) completed
- 60 Upper Division Hours
- 300 level & above
- 200 level & above in Mathematical and Physical Sciences
- 200 level & above in foreign languages taught in the foreign language
- Philosophy 250
- 191 Minimum Total Earned Hours -The total number of hours comprises General Education Curriculum (GEC), major course work, and elective hours; which could be used to create a second major, minor or internship/research/study-abroad credit.
- 45 Minimum Hours Completed at Ohio State – Although this requirement is of more concern to entering transfer students than to entering first-year students, in order to graduate from Ohio State, you must have earned at least 45 credits here at Ohio State. Students also are required to complete 20 hours in their major at Ohio State and 10 hours in their minor.
- You cannot have more than 6 hours of physical education activity. Physical education courses are not required for graduation.
- Apply to Graduate – it is recommended that students apply to graduate approximately two quarters prior to the quarter they anticipate graduating.
